Our First Christmas Tree

This year will be different.  Todd and I decided to we would stay in Pueblo for Christmas.  This was a big decision because we have been in Cody for Christmas every year except one for our whole lives.  There was some excitment that came with this decision ebcause this would mean that we would be doing "our own thing" even though we weren't sure what all that would entale.

November 30th we took the kids and purchased our first Christmas tree.  The tree was absolutely beautiful and the kids were so excited.  Mason had been asking about a tree and said that was one of the 3 things that he wanted for Christmas.  Todd tied the tree to the top of my van and we brought it home.  When it was set up we had the kids go to bed and the decorating would begin in the morning.
December 1st, We started to decorate our house.  I didn't know that I had so many Christmas decorations.  We have never put them up for the 6 years that we have lived in Pueblo.  The whole living room was decked out and looked great.  The kids decorated the whole tree and it looked so pretty.  They took such pride in putting the decorations on it.
Mason wants to keep the decorations up for 100 days
Asvery thinks it looks beautiful and pretty
Cole had a surprise for us too!  He started rolling all over the floor.  This was a surprise since I had never seen him do this.  He was rolling both ways, front to back and back to front.  It seems he might have been thinking, "I'll knock their socks off with this one" and he did.  What a cool surprise.  When he would roll over we would cheer for him, "Yah Cole" and the kids are still doing that 3 1/2 weeks later.

  1. We traveled to Vermont for Christmas when Zach was 10 months (December 1995) old after we got home the word was given "I will not travel at Christmas ever again, I don't expect anyone to travel here unless you want too in which case we would be happy to have you" with he exception of 2002 where we went to Florida we have spent every Christmas at home. Zach will be 17 in February...
