Mason got a butterfly kit for his birthday from the Cichons. This was the coolest thing. We got to watch the caterpillars turn into cocoons and then hatch from them. We kept them for about 10 days. Mason fed them orange slices and sugar water. Avery was a little reserved about putting her hand in the enclosure. She was sort of scared of them landing on her hands, but she was ok when I would put one in her hand. It was also a neat experience to let them go and watch them fly away.
Mason wasn't shy at all. He enjoyed catching them and handing them. He was a pro in no time!
