Halloween Extravaganza

Halloween was a fun holiday for us. Mason had a Halloween party in class with trick or treating and a carnival on Friday.  On Saturday, we went to the nature center.  The nature center is fun because the kids get to do different activities, like a bounce house, face painting, a spooky walk, scary stories, ring toss, crafts, and they get a free cookie and a cider.  There is also a playground area that the kids can play on and the kids have so much fun there.  They also get to learn about bats and different birds (from the raptor center).  We spent a few hours there then we went to a place called the sugar shack and got the kids a snack.  We ended the night with some pizza.  The kids had so much fun and they were all a sticky, messy bunch.  We came home got them in bed and then Todd and I got ready for an  adult Halloween party.

We are LOVING Halloween.  When I taught the kids the saying trick or treat smell my feet give me something good to ear.  If you don't I don't care, I'll pull down your underwear.  Mason couldn't stop laughing and trying to repeat it.  He thought it was hilarious which made all of us laugh!
I have to admit that I didn't want to take the kids because I was worried about the management part. I was worried about losing a kid or having one get ran over by an idiot. Todd thought it would be a fun to take the kids trick or treating ans he was so right.  We found a great street that was well lit and at least every other house was lit up.  There were also so many other kids on the street.  It reminded me of being a kid and trick or treating.  This was the perfect experience for my kids.  They had so much fun and they loved the whole experience.  What a success!
