Love Being Home

I have had the past 11 days off and I have been really enjoying my family. I really love this time with Avery and Mason. Avery took her first steps on Sunday and is discovering things so rapidly. Mason is really becoming a little guy. He is saying all kinds of cleaver things and his imagination is amazing us everyday. This is just a very good time!

We went to a winter festival at the river walk. The kids were really bundled up because it was a cold night. I was glad that we had this snow suit for Avery and even more glad that it fit!

Completely adorable in her little snow suit.

Daddy and Smilin Baby

We moved Avery's car seat straps up so that she can sit a little more comfortable.
The other day Mason wanted me to put an Elmo movie on for him. I told him that I was feeding Avery and he would have to wait until I was done. He looked at her and said, "Avery, you are done. All done Avery."

Mason has been calling his fish Dorothy. Randomly he started going up to the tank and talking to Dorothy. (Dorothy is Elmo's fish's name)

Avery is mimicking all sorts of sounds. She is a little mockingbird.
Avery was crawling around the kitchen floor and got stuck between the chair and the table legs. She let out this scream. I went over and moved the chair and she went on about her business like nothing ever happened. She has a very alarming distress call - and it works!
Mason playing under the fish tank. He kept telling me that he wanted to take a nap by Dorothy.
"I sleepin!"
"I wake" He kept saying "Mommy, you get under here too!"
Lazy days!

Awwww. What a mom won't do to get a good shot of her child when he won't look at the camera without a lot of theatrics. Lately when I pull out the camera Mason goes out of his way to not look so I will make all sorts of noises, jump, dance, whatever it takes. With this particular shot nothing seemed to be working so I said, "Look at Renee." He was so happy and he turned and said, "Wo Nah?" Then I got my shot.

Mason and Daddy building a workbench in the garage. Both of them were really excited!

"I do it myself Daddy!"
Mason didn't like the hearing protection at first. We told him that he couldn't be out in the garage unless he had them on. Then he didn't mind.
Avery has discovered the wonderful world of books! She really likes looking at them and kept making these excited little yelps and squeals when she would see a new page.

  1. It looks like Avery is going to be up and walking solo in no time!
