Avery - A Year and A Half

Our sweet baby turns a year and a half and we are crazy in love with this little girl. Just as crazy in love with her as the day that I brought her into this world. Having a little girl is heaven.

Avery climbed on our bed (3 foot from the floor to the top of our mattress - honest I measured).

Loves to play playdoh
Now is in this phase where she wants to carry all her "babies" and her blankets with her everywhere. She will have me put them in her arms or will try to pick them all up and walk around the house. She gets frustrated when she drops one while picking one up and says, "babies, babies" in a very desperate voice.
Carrying more babies
Need to rest

Here is where I talk about our little Ave and some of the wonderful things that she does. I hope it doesn't look like a description on a dating website I am just so enamored with her.

Avery is really showing us what an adorable little person she is. She is loving, sweet, funny, clever, playful, demanding, and really very smart. She now has about 20 words in her vocabulary. Some of her new ones are, all gone, bubbles, go, shoe, outside, elmo, thank you, balloon, and baby.
Avery gives awesome hugs. She tends to really wrap her little body around mine and just melt into me. I love this. At naps or bedtime when I lay her in bed she waves and says, "bye bye." She really likes to eat raisins and mandarin oranges and she likes to eat them with a fork. She is patient and does well. She loves her bath/shower time and she will rub her own shampoo on her hair and even help Mason (which he sometimes doesn't appreciate). She is quite a helper, she will even dump water on Mason and herself to get all wet or rinse the soap off.
She really seems to understand the order of things and demonstrates this to us. The other day she brought some tennis shoes to Todd and he told her that she needed to get some socks on first, so she went to her room and came out a little bit later with a pair of socks. She rubs on her own lotion, tries to comb her hair, and tries so hard to dress herself, she is also getting very proficient in taking off her own diaper (not my favorite thing). She loves to take my phone and talk on it and gets even more excited if someone is on the other end. It can get very difficult to take it away from her. She also likes motor boat, ring around the rosy, and the hokey poky. She will even hum along with the songs.
She can now climb on Todd and my bed and can get down by herself, this is very handy for her since she likes to get up there and jump. She is also putting up her little fingers and counting, "un, oooo, and eeee." The great thing is she really uses 1 finger for one, 2 for two, and then all her fingers for three.

We are working on the rule of keeping cups and snacks in the kitchen. This is funny because I will tell her to go to the kitchen with her cup or snack and she will shake her head no or tell me "unt uh" then the smile. Oh the smile, it is ridiculous and I often find myself lost in it thinking thought like wow she is beautiful, how can a baby be so stunning? or what an adorable little girl, is that my chin or Todd's? Then I snap out of it and remember what I was doing in the first place.
