Wrapping up January

This month has gone so fast and despite feeling huge and tired I have been pretty productive. This week gets me 1 week closer to being done with school and one week closer to not being pregnant. Who's counting?

HearAid is wrapping up from our open house last week and it really was a success for us. I finally got all the paperwork off my desk which was a huge job and a huge relief. Sometimes when Todd doesn't have prior engagement with his work he will spend a day or two helping us get caught up. Luckily, I was able to recruit his help so that I can start fresh next week. Truthfully, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did without him! Now we are keeping quite busy with the patient fittings and their follow up visits. This is where we joke that the real work begins, but it is really just the funner part of the process. It is fun to learn more about our patients and their families and to help them through the hearing with amplification process.

Friday Todd took the dogs into the vet because Thursday night we noticed that Sydney's toe looked strange and seems to be causing her quite a bit of pain. We also found out that Sara has a broken tooth which by the vet clinic's estimate should be no problem for about $400. When I talked to Renee about this and she gave me the number of her vet clinic in Trinidad (1.5 hours south) and said that he could probably have a much better rate. After calling them the price is around $100. Got to hand it to the small town vets. They work hard for a lot less. We also have no more information on Sydney's toe. Apparently, she is going to have to just bare through it with a little pain medication. Aye aye aye.

We also started a new rule at our house which has been enforced quite diligently and I am very proud of that. No more sippee cups outside of the kitchen. Even the best of sippee cups seem to leak a little when they are thrown down or left on the floor. I am hoping that we will no more have any little juice, milk, or water reminders on the toys, carpets, walls, or couches.

Today Todd has been in a cleaning mode and Mason is his big helper! Todd was washing a few dishes in the kitchen sink and Mason was trying to get his attention. Since Todd was busy he really wasn't looking at Mason. That is when Mason threw his pants into the sink. They are a little big around the waist and had fallen off. Todd and I laughed, I guess it is one way for Mason to tell us to pay attention he had something valid to say. I was talking to Mason about how the room was "ooki" because it needed vacuuming and he said "cookie?" with hopeful little eyes.

Today is going to be tough since Mason is teething and also finishing up the week with his cold. We are going to have to work hard today to keep him busy and not thinking about his tooth!
