Learning the Babies

Mason is being such a good boy with Avery. He is really a big helper and when she cries he runs to her and says, "Avery cry." If I don't get to her right away he will keep telling me that she is crying. We have to closely watch him because he climbs up in her crib and he also tried to pick her up yesterday. Yikes. He also likes to try to burp, feed, and put her binki in.

Mason also likes that he gets to do more by himself since Avery came home. He is enjoying eating on his own and seems to eat better when he gets to do this. He loves to dance and is asking to dance more (something that he does with one of the babysitters). He likes it when we turn the radio on and we all dance. This works well for me since I can do this in the kitchen while I am preparing meals, doing dishes, or cleaning up the kitchen. Mason also LOVES Elmo. We watch Elmo when he asks to watch a movie (mooey). I am very good at singing the theme song. These videos keep his attention like nothing else - it is amazing.

Mason also smiles when he sees the flash from the camera. That is how I keep getting all these cute photos of him. I have waited for this day for a very long time!!!

Avery's belly button completely fell off a few days ago so I was able to give her a bath. I ran the bathtub with warm water and we got in. I thought that she would really like this since she loves to have her hair washed. I was wrong. She screamed the whole time. Interesting because Mason loves the bath and was screaming to get in. So, 2 kids screaming wanting something that they don't have. Hmmm. I finished with Avery handed her off to Todd and Mason climbed in. Then everyone was happy.

Avery seems to be really growing and she is so strong. I am already putting clothes that she has outgrown away. Thank God that my cousin gave us so many hand me downs from her little girl. They are all so so so cute and in perfect condition. This has been very nice for Todd and I because I can't imagine buying all of these little girl clothes that she is going to outgrow.

She is really eating and seems to be sleeping for longer stretches. I feed her about 10 pm, then I feed her again about 2 am, then Todd feeds her from 5 to 6 am. This way we can switch off and both of us seem to get a little more sleep. Works great!
