I imagine that Mason saying something like, "I'll meet you on the other side. Now go, get outta here, good luck" to his animals (Lamby, Nah, and Pooh), blanket, and binki as he tosses them over the rail.
After I had put Mason down for his nap today. He climbed out of his crib. I have been dreading this day and thinking out loud that I will keep him in a crib as long as I can. It is so nice to put him down for his naps or 7:30 bedtime and not have to wonder where he is or what he is doing. Also I have been hearing about kids going to their big kid beds and how it can be a real challenge for them to stay in bed to fall asleep or even to sleep throughout the night without waking up with them at the foot of their parent's bed. I was so happy not to be currently dealing with these issues. Hmmm looks like I am now currently dealing with these issues. Any advice on getting a little one to sleep in a toddler bed is very welcomed! Once again the surveillance camera has paid itself off.
I was really nervous when we put Kassi in her big girl bed, but it has worked out so well. The first thing we did was take the advice of our doctor and just put the matress on the floor so there is no danger if she is to roll out. He had also advised to put up a gate in the door way, and if she was to get up give her a warning and then tell her we would be closing the door if she did not stay in the bed. Luckily we never even needed the gate. We made a big deal of her being a big girl and having to stay in her big girl bed. She actually sleeps better in it than she ever did her crib and she never gets out of it unless we give her permission. She has only tried to get out of it a couple of times and each time I just told her she had to stay in bed until we got her and she went back in and didn't leave it again.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
That video is funny, and a little scary. Thank goodness he didn't fall. Hopefully the toddler bed will continue to be a success.
ReplyDeleteSmart lad there! - knew he had to throw his toys and blankey out 1st so he could play w/ them after his escape.
ReplyDeleteGood indication Mason will excel at tree climbing -- or don't you want to know about that yet?
