At Grandma and Grandpa Bertsch's House

Since we stayed in Casper the night before I was lucky enough to have Ashle drive the Casper to Cody leg of the trip with me. She was coming to Cody for her 10th reunion. When we first got into town we stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Bertsch's house. The week went fast and included a trip to Billings for me, Mom, and Gene, without the kids. It has sort of turned into a tradition that I get to go for a day and I do enjoy it. We would play outside, go on walks, frequented the swimming pool, enjoyed the 4th activities, Avery started getting in her back molars which was hard on her, and she loved opening and shutting their doors, a newly aquired skill.

This was the day of the kiddie parade (July 2nd). We went down to the city park and played before the parade. The kids love the swings.

We also did a great deal of swimming at the rec center. Both kids had swim lessons for 4 weeks and we also did some free swimming. It was great to have Grandma Bertsch's help with them in the water. Mason is awesome in the water. He goes under, retrieves rings off the bottom, plays ball, kicks his feet, blows bubbles, jumps in, back floats, and goes down the kiddie slide. He isn't too crazy about the organized part of this and the instructors did a lot of coaxing to get him to participate with them.

Avery also really likes the water as long as she is warm. She really likes jumping in, moving her arms, kicking her feet, and blowing bubbles. She is not horribly crazy about going under water and doesn't like it in her ears.

We bought some fireworks and set them off 2 different nights. The kids thought they were pretty. Avery didn't like the sound and wanted to be held doing our alleged illegal activity.

This is a good time to explain Mason's princess. He had a thing where he wanted to wear Avery's pajamas with princesses on them. He kept wanting to wear them and would say, "I am a Princess!" So pretty much the whole trip this was the only outfit that I would have needed to pack for him. Think of the room that I couldn't saved! Funny kids.
