We went for Avery's Dr. appt Monday (only a month and a half late). Apparently we were suppose to go for a 9 month appointment but there was some confusion on this because our previous pediatrician had left and his schedule was not tended to. Ooops. So, our Dr. has left the clinic and I am very sad about this because he was excellent. We scheduled to see his "replacement" Dr. Gregg. I like her but it is hard when you have a pediatrician that you LOVE to try to "replace" them. Even though I have no doubts that our previous pediatrician is doing something better suited for his skill and intellect. He is working for the hospital for the very sick babies. He was excellent with Avery when she was born and maybe more importantly excellent with 2 scared parents so with that I wish him well and of course, us too! Avery is 21 pounds and 10 oz which puts her in the 75%tile and 30 1/2 inches long which puts her in the 97%tile. Dr. Gregg said that Avery had a herniated belly button which odds are good that it will be fine as she grows. She also has 5 teeth now and had her iron level tested. They like to see it at least 12 and hers was a 14, so they said that was great. She is doing well speech wise. Her words consist of mama, yeah, hi, hello, and upa (how Mason says he wants up). She also kisses, laughs, shares, puts objects in things (socks in garbage, balls in hoops), plays peek-a-boo and patty cake, loves to play, eats cheerios, puffs, and yogurt bites. Did I mention that she is now running? She is also sleeping through the night and it was so easy to get her to do it that I thought about renaming her Angel Baby. By all accounts she is perfect, which I already knew. We go back in a few weeks for her 1 year appointment.
