Todd is gone and won't be back until Thursday night, maybe. He is in El Paso, Texas bidding on some major roofing projects for the housing authority there. So, while he is sleeping in a seedy little $35 a night motel, eating who knows what kind of food, working hard during the daylight hours, going from supply house to supply house, fighting traffic to get to the different jobs, climbing on damaged second and third story roofs, walking squares of shingles in the hot Texas sun...well, we are doing alright.
We miss him, yes. We want him to come home, yes. We ask a million times a day, "Where's Daddy", yes. I can do somethings and I can do them well, but we NEED Todd. I was able to hang a calendar using a nail and hammer. These are tools that are usually forbidden for me to use and yes, I did call to ask permission mostly because I had no idea where these tools are kept. Not to mention that I needed to get instructions on hanging the calendar through the cabinet that houses our fridge. I found out where the tools are (a cabinet in the garage that I can't reach) and that the cabinet is 3/8 of an inch thick so use a short nail. I was able to clean the house, grocery shop, making dinner, take out the trash, feed the animals, and take care of Mason and Avery, but again we NEED Todd. My bed is too big, house too quiet, and I miss my friend. A hundred times I think, "Oh I can't wait to tell Todd that" or "" I have to show that to Todd". We talk a few times daily and converse about the basics; kids, work, and house are good, Texas is hot, there is a oodles of physical work and even more paperwork.
I am incredibly proud of Todd. He is a strong, smart, hard-working man that is taking care of business and more importantly his family. I appreciate these qualities immensely. I have never had to worry about things that I have heard other people worry about and I owe this to Todd. He is ambitious and capable, he is reliable and trustworthy. Bottom line he is a good man, great husband and an excellent father. Plus, he is good looking and can fix a lot of things. So, we can wait until Thursday night, Friday night, or even Saturday night and having him home will be worth the wait.
