Swimming Fun

Saturday, we were invited to go swimming with Renee and Caleb. It was so much fun. We really had a blast! Initially, we thought that Todd and Avery would stay home since it would interfere with her morning nap. I have to admit that I am religious about my kids' schedules. I think that sometimes people think that I am an old fuddy duddy (a term my Nanny used in the past) and I have been on the receiving end of some ridicule for it. Truthfully, the schedule is how we function and sometimes I think that it is our only constant. Between Todd and I we have a very busy household (probably like everyone else) and while often we are in 2 different places at once with 100 different things happening the one constant that we have is the kids' schedules. I credit the schedule for our sanity. Anyway...Todd and Avery did come and we had so much fun. Avery was adorable in her little swimsuit (thanks Kas) and Mason liked his "swim pants". We swam for about an hour and it was so much fun. Mason laughed so hard when Todd would jump in the water and loved to play water slammy (a game where Todd pretends to slam Mason down on the couch). He kept saying, "I swim by myself". Avery really liked the water too and learned that splashing is a lot of fun. Afterwards, the boys ate sandwiches that Renee had made and Todd and I did the unthinkable and went through a drive-thru. It literally had been over 6 months since I had been through a drive-thru or even had fast food. This was a perfect way for the family to spend the morning expecially since Todd was leaving to go to Texas for a few days.

Cutest little girl!

All of us (minus Mommy - someone had to take the picture). But of course I was in the water too!
