Good Bilirubin News

Today we got some good news! Avery's bilirubin scores had been rising about 2 points a day. Since she is a little older her danger score is higher, but it was apparent that her little body was having a hard time getting the bilirubin out of her system. So, we have been going to have her blood draw every morning and the Dr's office would call us and tell us the score in the afternoon. Everyday we would wait for the phone to ring and hope that it was good news (a lower score). Until today it hadn't happened. Yesterday she was at 18.5 and today she is down to 17. We are so happy to hear this. This may be the downward slide where her scores may just keep dropping because her liver is working well and her bone marrow is producing red blood cells at an acceptable rate. Because her score was down then we don't have to go have her blood drawn tomorrow. That is the best birthday present that I could ever ask for!
